Storyline

Plot Summary: Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. I havent seen any of the previous terminator movies.so does this mean i will not be able to understand the story of terminator salvation?

You will be lost on a lot of what's going on, but it's still watchable. Many references will be lost on you, and the main storyline is very related to the earlier movies, but I'm sure you'll be able to pick up on what is happening as you watch, if you pay close attention.

Would Terminator Salvation Make Sense If I Haven't Seen The Previous Installments?

I really, really want to see Terminator Salvation with Christian Bale this Spring but I haven't seen any of the previous "Terminator" films. I actually did not even know that there was any previous installements.

If I go to see just the fourth movie, Terminator Salvation, will it still make sense or should I go and rent the previous three? If so, what are the titles?

Definitely see the others first. In order:

Terminator
Terminator 2 : Judgement Day (all-time scifi classic!)
Terminator 3 : Rise of the Machines

Lots of people hated the last one, but I thought it was ok- just not anywhere near the level of the first two, which were great.

You CAN skip the last movie and not really miss anything, after the first two you're all set for Terminator: Salvation :)

Those of you who have seen Terminator Salvation. Is the movie worth watching? Just wondering?

Yes. It is worth watching. It's a very suspenseful, action packed film that will have you riveted to your seat. I saw it at midnight and I had a lot of fun watching it. Christian Bale was great. He looked very hot as usual. Sam Worthington was great and very good looking too!

Anyway, yeah you should go watch it. You'll like it.

p.s.- The Terminators scared me!
p.s.s - Don't ever pay attention to critics. They don't always get their reviews right. Most of the movies those critics have raved turn out to be very boring and stupid, for example Shakespeare in Love: BORING! So yeah I wouldn't base my decision on watching a film on their reviews.
